Sorry for the lack of updates... There's nothing really new on the site, but I wanted to mention a couple of books I've read. First, there was Enterprise: What Price Honor? by Dave Stern (2.5 stars out of 4) and also Voyager: The Nano-Tech War by Steven Piziks (3 stars out of 4). Both were really enjoyable, but I want to give kudos to Steven Piziks for fleshing out the 7 of 9/Chakotay relationship which we missed during Voyager's run...
I am now reading Star Wars: Cloak of Deception by James Luceno, a pre-Phantom Menace book.

I actually finished Deep Space Nine: Mission Gamma - Lesser Evil by Robert Simpson last week - I just didn't get to post it. If you like DS9, if you miss DS9, if you want more DS9, read the DS9 relaunce books! As for Lesser Evil, I thought it was the best of the four Mission Gamma books and now I have to wait until January for the next book - The Rising Son (just look at that cover! *grin*).
Now I'm reading Steven Piziks' Voyager: The Nanotech War. Although I haven't really been a big Voyager fan, this book is coming along nicely and filing in some much needed storyline gaps.
Back of the Book: Throughout human history, mankind has turned its goals and dreams toward exploration. With wagon trains, ships, satellites and starships, humanity has chosen to seek out the new frontier, to explore new worlds, and to go where no human has gone before-even to the furthest reaches of the Delta Quadrant. There, Captain Janeway and the crew of the Starship Voyager™ have discovered many strange and wondrous civilizations...but few as alien as the Chiar.
An advanced and scientiÞc people who have made great strides with nanotechnology, the Chiar expanded internally rather than externally. Every inch of their planet is crawling with the tiniest bits and pieces of artiÞcial intelligence imaginable, working in concert as the new lifeblood of this mechanical world. The people themselves are inseparable from their nanites, which layer their skin and provide extra limbs or senses as required.
Caught up in a bitter civil conþict, some Chiar will try to take advantage of their meeting with the crew of Starship Voyager. I can't believe I have to wait until January for the next New Jedi Order book... Star Wars: The New Jedi Order - Ylesia by Walter Jon Williams was also excellent, buy just too short, but that's an e-book for you. But now I'm back to Star Trek with Deep Space Nine: Mission Gamma - Lesser Evil by Robert Simpson, which is the conclusion to the Mission Gamma series.
Back of the Book: Chaos erupts aboard Deep Space 9 as the crew begins a desperate search for a killer in their midst, catapulting Colonel Kira Nerys on a dangerous chase into the heart of the Federation. But the crime she seeks to avenge is part of a plot more ancient and far-reaching than anyone suspects, and that secret, if exposed, could divide worlds throughout the Alpha Quadrant.

It seems like the war is finally turning for the better, and Star Wars: The New Jedi Order - Destiny's Way by Walter Jon Williams, was an excellent continuation of the New Jedi Order saga. I can't believe it only took me a few days to read this book... And to continue with Mr. Williams, I am now reading his e-book novella Star Wars: The New Jedi Order - Ylesia (which takes place during Destiny's Way).
Back of the Book: Ripe for the plucking... That's Jedi Knight Kyp Durron's opinion about the planet Ylesia, home base of the so-called Peace Brigade, a group of traitors dedicated to hindering the war efforts of the New Republic and hastening the victory of the merciless Yuuzhan Vong. Kyp's plan calls for a lightning-fast strike, backed with overwhelming force, to destroy the Brigade's offensive capabilities and teach prospective traitors that betrayal carries a heavy price. But young Jacen Solo, still bearing the scars of his imprisonment by the Yuuzhan Vong, has a better idea: a daring raid into the heart of Ylesia's capital, with the objective of capturing the Brigade's top leaders-including the newly sworn-in President, Thrackan Sal-Solo, cousin to Jacen and his twin, Jaina.

Star Wars: The New Jedi Order - Traitor by Matthew Stover was by far one of the best New Jedi Order books out as of late. I've enjoyed all the NJO books, but I had trouble putting this one down. It didn't help that I was at my in-laws while I was reading it. Now I'm into Star Wars: The New Jedi Order - Destiny's Way by Walter Jon Williams. I can't wait to see what happens with Jacen!

Okay, now I have now finished Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Mission Gamma: Cathedral by Michael A. Martin and Andy Mangels - it was great - I felt as if I were watching it on TV! Kudos go to Martin and Mangels. Now I wish I didn't have to wait so long for Book Four of the Mission Gamma series. In the mean time, I'll be reading Star Wars: The New Jedi Order - Traitor by Matthew Stover.

I have now finished the second installment of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Mission Gamma series: This Gray Spirit by Heather Jarman. While Twilight made me feel as if I were stationed on DS9, This Gray Spirit put me in the characters heads and made me think the way they did. I thought it was an excellent follow-up to Twilight. It's too bad I'm now at the half way point in the Mission Gamma series...
Now I'm reading Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Mission Gamma: Cathedral by Michael A. Martin and Andy Mangels (the same dynamic duo who wrote ST:TNG - Section 31 - Rogue, which I also really enjoyed).

I just finished an awesome Star Trek book and I would highly recommend it to you: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Mission Gamma: Twilight by David R. George III, which is book one of a four book story arc. If you miss DS9 as I do, read Twilight and you will feel as if you had never left the station. (Although it would help if you read the DS9 books that take place after the series finale: Avatar, books I & II, Section 31: Abyss, and Gateways (book four of seven): Demons of Air and Darkness.)
Now I'm reading Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Mission Gamma: This Gray Spirit by Heather Jarman. Back of the Book: The political intrigue aboard Deep Space 9 escalates when Gul Macet's warship arrives at the station with an unexpected passenger. Cardassian Ambassador Natima Lang has returned to the station on a mission of hope, but it's one that will bring back old wounds and old ghosts. As tensions rise on all sides, Colonel Kira Nerys discovers that the line between friend and foe is narrower than she ever imagined.

I have put on eBay the rare and hard to find diecast USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D with the viewable bridge. This is a real treasure, if you can get it!
I have removed the LCARS Bookstore because it was more of a hassle than it was worth and it just wasn't doing anything besides taking up server space. But on a related note, I have revamped the Star Trek Books Section. Now I just need to update it! =)
